A cross-country mountain hiking trail called the &#8220;Baekdu-Daegan&#8221; was the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">I&#8217;ve made progress, but it&#8217;s been really\u00a0physically tough, and I realize I&#8217;m just not too good at this &#8220;trekking&#8221; thing. I&#8217;ve taken many rest days, including presently.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I began walking from Jungsan-ri [\uc911\uc0b0\ub9ac) on Tuesday, September 17th at about 7:20 AM. I passed through <strong>Jiri Mountain National Park <\/strong>over the next few days, staying in the efficiently-run mountain hostels at night (which are reservation-only), and then emerged into one of the highly-remote parts of the trail outside the national parks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have much time now to write. An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.kr\/search?newwindow=1&#038;q=jirisan&#038;biw=1440&#038;bih=729&#038;um=1&#038;ie=UTF-8&#038;hl=en&#038;tbm=isch\" title=\"\">Google-Image search for &#8220;Jirisan&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0yields many more.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s now 9:00 AM on Tuesday, October 1st, or two weeks almost to the hour after my trip began.
